A Hard Seltzer consists of carbonated water (seltzer) and alcohol, usually flavored with fruit or other natural flavorings. In recent years, the category has grown explosively, being a refreshing alternative to beer, cider, and wine. LOCAL Hard Seltzer was the first locally produced Hard Seltzer brand launched in Sweden. We were assigned to create the branding and packaging design that mirrored the drink's refreshing character and that could introduce the brand new category of drinks to the Swedish market. This resulted in a clean design featuring a bold wordmark logo and typography, clearly communicating the brand and category, with a vibrant color scheme and flat illustrations with a retro feel. The result is a simple yet distinctive visual identity that stands out on the shelf.

We wanted the packaging design to feel just as crisp and clear as the beverage itself. With a bold wordmark logo, a saturated color scheme and minimal elements that stands out through its simplicity.
We also rolled out a print and digital launching campaign, introducing LOCAL as an alternative to and differentiating it from beer, cider, and wine, simply by stating all the qualities not defining LOCAL. Challenging common dislikes associated with other alcoholic beverages, stated by the target group. In a follow up campaign introducing a new flavor, LOCAL Tropical, we seized the opportunity to not only present the new edition but to jokingly boast about LOCAL’s position as the leading Hard Seltzer in Sweden.
